Te Papa first performed on the 14th of February, 1998, at the opening of The Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa.
Te Papa (CD 2, 1st work) is based on the anonymously-written mid-nineteenth century poem, Charm. Words in English and Māori also printed as text in container insert.
Container insert contains reproduction of painting "West coast, red and gold sky" by Gretchen Albrecht, and includes biographical notes on the artist.
Recorded in Symphony House, Wellington, N.Z., August 1997 (CD 1), and March 1998 (CD 2).
