Summary:
Two manuscripts of slightly different size in similar covers. The phrases on the covers both end with the word wu' htu, indicating that the texts are narratives or stories. The second manuscript is a retelling of the story of We-than-da-ya, a Burmese version of the Vessantara Jataka story (Allegra Giovine).
Notes:
Written in 9 lines per leaf; ruled in lead.
The date ME 1286 (1924 or 1925) appears at the end of the second manuscript (Allegra Giovine).
Folios white, with black script; folded concertina- or accordion-style, including covers.
Red and gold molded covers with small pieces of colored and mirrored glass and a phrase in the central panel of the upper cover of each.
