The work was probably composed in the early 5th cent. AD, consisting originally of four books, which were grouped later under the titles "Eklogai" (Eclogues) for Books 1-2 and Anthologion ("Florilegium" or "Sermones") for Books 3-4; Often considered separate works, both parts are now collectively referred to as Anthologion.
First German edition of Books 3-4 (Florilegium) of Stobaeus' "Anthologion" translated here by Frölich who based it on Konrad Gesner's Latin translation. Cf. Hoffmann.
