- Manuscript is a kind of manual and astrological/cosmological treatise used for contemplation and consultation for the purpose of divination and inward contemplation through a reading and correlation of planetary tables, an understanding of the different regions (varṣa) of the earth, etc.

- Title from colophon (f. 15v); alternate title Nīlakaṇṭhī supplied by cataloger.
