This book contains the refereed proceedings of the 16th International Conference on Business Information Systems, BIS 2013, held in Poznań, Poland, in June 2013. The theme of this year's conference was "Business Applications on the Move," reflecting the growing usage of mobile devices in business applications and its repercussions on business processes and information management.
