Summary:
Filmmaker Natalia Almada's great-grandfather Plutarco Elias Calles served as a general in the Mexican Revolution and became the president of Mexico in 1924. Today, he is remembered as a dictator who ruled through puppet presidents until his exile in 1936. Inspired by audio recordings Almada inherited from her grandmother about her great-grandfather, the film presents a complex and visually arresting portrait of a family and country living under the shadows of the past.
