- Kate Weil Kolchin was a graduate of the Walden School, the parent of two Walden students, and a teacher at the Walden School in New York City. Her mother, Sylvia Loeb Weil, taught art and crafts at the Walden School. Kate's husband, Ellis Kolchin, was both an alumnus and teacher at the Walden School.
- Summary:
- A small assortment of memorabilia related to the Walden School in New York City. Included are booklets or promotional material for the school from 1918/19, 1930/31, 1949, 1971, and 1973 through 1977. Also included are school handbooks for 1954/55, 1960/61, 1963/64, and 1974; yearbooks for 1956, 1957, 1958, 1959, 1963, and 1964; assorted copies of the Walden Newsletter; two programs for student theatrical productions; several photographs; and alumni material from 1964-1997. Folders 15 to 18 comprise material related to Sylvia Weil's 1963/64 arts and crafts course, as well as the syllabi and staff list for that year. Two notable correspondence files concern Ralph C. Hill, former head of the Walden School and founder of the Deer Lake Camp in Connecticut, and Berta Rantz, former teacher of English and Dramatics at Walden.
