Summary:

The Public Housing' collection raises the question of the architecture of contemporary social housing, which is considered as a space for living and for social emancipation. It exposes projects in Wallonia that have been designed at the service of the most fragile populations at social and economic levels. The approach aims at lifting the veil on the social project that this architecture translates and envisages its response to the challenges of the 21st century. This first book, 'Living in a rural area', presents 10 projects (8 in Wallonia and 2 in France). A thoughtful implantation at the heart of a village, respecting the relief and dialogue with local buildings are so many guarantees for a successful relation between landscape and townplanning, and contributes to a thriving social integration.
