- Culture Class Collection copy has bookplate of Edward Heron-Allen F.R.S. (1861-1943), a writer, scientist, and Persian scholar, who produced a literal translation of the Quatrians of Omar Khayyam from the earliest known manuscript in the Bodelian Library of Oxford University, on front pastedown.
- Culture Class Collection copy has two ms. drawings on the front free endpapers; one of them is possibly a representation of the author while he was being held captive by the Turks and has caption text in pencil ("The author had been imprisoned among the Turks. p. 81") underneath; the other one is an image of a standing Turk, with a sword in each hand.
