Running title reads: Poems.
"Teares on the death of Moeliades", "The wandring Muses", and "Speeches to the high and excellent Prince, Charles" each have separate title page dated 1656; pagination and register are continuous.
A reissue of the 1656 edition printed by W.H., with new title page cancelling old title and dedication leaf. The title page is in two settings: (1) as above (Wing D2200), or (2) with title reading "The most elegant, and elaborate poems of that great court-vvit, Mr VVilliam Drummond. .." (Wing D2200A)
Signatures: A-O⁸.
Local Notes:
Culture Class Collection copy bound in one-quarter calf with gold-tooled armorial stamp of Reverend Jonathan Boucher on spine. The stamp has gold-tooled monogram: "J B" and a crest with an old man's head in profile, ducally crowned, couped at the shoulders; on his head a cap turned down in front.
Culture Class Collection copy has bookplate of Henry Charles Lea (1825-1909) on front pastedown and ms. ownership inscription" Henry C. Lea 1846" on front free endpaper.
Culture Class Collection copy has ms. ownership inscription of Reverend Jonathan Boucher: "J. Boucher's copy" on front pastedown.
Culture Class Collection copy imperfect: leaves A1-A3, L6-M8, O6-O8 wanting; text on title page and on leaves A3, O7, O8 supplied in ms.
