Unfinished edition; text ends with 4th paragraph of book 9, with blind catchword "Sophistae" followed by [3] p. index to the first eight books. The complete text, in 58 books, was printed at Basel in this same year by Michael Isengrin, with title "Hieroglyphica sive De sacris Aegyptiorvm literis commentarii." Woodblocks from this Florence edition were transferred to Basel for the Isengrin edition.
With numerous woodcut illustrations throughout.
Text in Latin with quotations and examples in Greek.
