- Summary:
- This text is a translation of Gunnar Heinsohn (economics, U. of Bremen) and Otto Steiger's (d. 2008) explanation of how operations enabled by property lead to interest and money, ultimately explaining the lost value compensated by interest. They distinguish between economic activity and the use of goods; the blindness of classical, neoclassical and Keynesian economics to how "only ownership-based societies are characterized by genuine economic activity"; how markets arise from ownership-based societies; and issues with ownership in developing countries. Frank Decker, the Australian economist who translated and edited the text, offers two appendices on ownership economics terms and concepts, as well as a table-summary of the role property rights play in modern ownership-based economies.
