Culture Class Collection copy has ms. ownership inscription "Constanter 1650", from the library of Constantijn Huygens (1596-1687), on title page. Constantijn Huygens was a Dutch Golden Age poet and composer; he was secretary to two Princes of Orange: Frederick Henry and William II, and the father of the scientist Christiaan Huygens. His personal library is said to have been half the size of that of the King of France. The smaller part of his library, that in total counted approximately 8.000 books, was sold in the 1688 auction after he had died.
