"This book was created as a Thesis project ... for the degree of Master of Arts in Liberal Studies, Dartmouth College, May 2011. It was letterpress printed with metal type and polymer plates on Rives Heavyweight paper using a Vandercook SP-15 in the Dartmouth Book Arts Workshop, then bound into a St. Armand paper cover based on a structure by Claire Van Vliet. An edition of 20 books: 5 lettered copies housed in drop-sided box with specimens of indigo, and 15 numbered copies."--booklet, p. [3]
"This artist book arises out of the contradictions of indigo ... This book uses the marks left by indigo-pictures, artifacts, and words-to create a narrative. The pages reveal the complex story of indigo as they open up east and west into a three panel view, where new relationships between images, and between image and text, occur as the pages are turned ..." --Booklet, p.
