Notes:
Place of publication from Wing.
The words "Duke of Buckingham, ... Marvell, Esq;" and "Mr. Milton, ... Mr. Ayloffe, &c." are each bracketed together on the t.p.
Leaf A3v of Part 1 states "By mistake of the printer, the running titles of the sheet G, (viz.) from p. 81 to 96 are printed wrong; and should have been printed, Poems on State Affairs, instead of State Poems Continued".
In two parts. Part 2, "State-poems; continued from the time of O. Cromwel, to the year 1697; with several poems in praise of Oliver Cromwel, in Latin and English" has separate dated t.p., pagination and register.
Within Part 2 "The hind and panther transvers'd to the story of the country-mouse and the city-mouse" has divisional t.p. on leaf F1r; pagination and register are continuous.
It seems likely that Part 2 was also issued separately but Wing does not record such an edition. Wing 5325A is the 1697 edition of "State-poems".
Error in pagination in Part 2, p. 90 and 96 misnumbered 60 and 99 respectively.
Publisher's advertisment: pt. 1 on leaf R4v; pt. 2 on leaf S8v.
