This ruled volume contains the constitution, by-laws, and minutes of the Unity Club of Augusta from its formation on 6 December 1880. The volume records the election of officers and executive committee members of the club. Some recurring members are, Judge William P. Whitehouse, William H. Bigelow, Julia Bigelow, Prentiss M. Authors studied include William Shakespeare, George Eliot, James Russell Lowell, Edgar Allan Poe, and Nathaniel Hawthorne among numerous others. The club also discussed many topics including Native Americans, the French Revolution, the American Revolution, and English history. One year was dedicated to the topic of cities in Italy.
