Summary:
Manuscript used from private or public recitation, prayer, and observance during the month of Bhādra (August/September) of rites employed to ward off problems (aduḥkha), such as evil and sin, for the coming year. It includes a section called the Pūjāvidhi, on worshiping the goddess Parvātī, as well as a section on mythology related to the observance.

Colophon: iti śrīskaṃdapurāṇe aduḥkhanavamīkathāsamāptaḥ // cha // śake 1723 durmamati saṃvatsare nabhaśukl[e] tad dine daśamīgurūvārarāmacaṃdrasya sununā viśvanāthaparāḍakareṇa svārthaparopakarārthalikhyate // cha // śrīkṛṣṇārpaṇam astu // (f. 7v).
Dated śaka 1723 (1801) (f. 7v).
Scribe is Viśvanātha Parāḍakara, son of Rāmacandra (f. 7v).
Mistakes blacked out; some corrections and additions in margins. Significant symbols, words, and phrases highlighted in red throughout. Double vertical lines in red mark margins on some folios (f. 1-3).
