- This collection of ten articles on the economic crisis of 2008 focuses on policy responses to the world downturn from East Asian governments. Divided into sections covering the state of the financial system and the roots of the crisis, impacts, consequences and policy responses, and shortfalls and restraints of policy decisions, individual articles address specific problems in Taiwan, Japan, Korea and China and discuss key features of policy responses such as re-nationalization, national industrial policy adjustments, fiscal discipline and austerity measures. Contributors include academics and policy makers from a variety of Asian universities and financial and governmental institutions.
