- In his 2007 book Baghdad, Yesterday, Arabic literature professor Somekh told the story of his youth in Iraq and his family's move to Israel. In this book, the second volume of his memoirs, he describes his life as a university professor and writer at Tel Aviv University in Israel, and his travels in Egypt, the UK, and the US.
