A defense of the Roman Catholich theology of good works against that of Lutheranism, by Georg Witzel. Witzel was an early student and follower of Luther, who remained loyal to the Roman Church, but held a moderating position between Luther and the Pope.

Penn Libraries copy has ms. shelf-mark(?) ("3.C.P.T.I.2.22[?]") on front pastedown; ms. note in Dutch(?) in pencil identifying the arms on the binding as those of "President Charron de Maenars" on front free endpaper.
