- Summary:
- A live performance of the comedy by Sholem Aleichem that takes place at the end of the 19th century in a Polish village and revolves around the village Jews' attempt to find a legendary treasure of Napolean hidden somewhere in their midst. The belief that a fortune is buried in their village results in comic situations, difficulties, and arguments, and raises the hopes of the residents as each believes that the treasure will solve all his problems. A story of the power of faith to give people hope in trying circumstances and of an individual's willingness to forgo his personal well-being for the benefit of the common good.
