Summary:
Romantic melodrama in which an American girl falls for the warlord who abducts her in war-torn China. She arrives in Shanghai to join her fiance, a missionary, and is initially repulsed and terrified by her fierce and charismatic captor, but gradually her feelings change, to fascination and then infatuation.
