Summary:
This care plan book serves as a guide for nurses who plan and promote health care for the critically ill patient. With the trends in health care of cost containment and shortened stays, patients in critical care units have higher acuity levels and stay for much shorter times than in the past. The average critical care nurse is forced to spend so much of the time coping with the technical aspects of the patient's care that the planning aspects tend to get shuffled to the background. The primary focus of this book is planning for holistic care in a setting where these life threatening conditions are the primary concern.
