Severn Bridge tolls. A bill [as amended by the select committee] to empower the minister of transport to levy tolls in respect of the use of a new road which crosses the rivers Severn and Wye; to enable that minister, in relation to that new road, to impose prohibitions, restrictions and other requirements for the purpose of preventing obstruction and for the protection of property and otherwise; to provide for the extinguishment of any franchise to operate a ferry across the River Severn in the vicinity of the new road, and to enable compensation to be paid to persons operating any such ferry; and for purposes connected with the matters aforesaid.
