Criminal justice. A bill [as amended by Standing Committee A] to amend the law relating to the probation of offenders, the supervision of persons by probation officers and the functions of probation officers; to provide new methods and to reform existing methods of dealing with offenders and persons liable to imprisonment; to amend the law relating to the management of prisons and other institutions and the treatment of offenders after sentence and of persons committed to custody; to consolidate certain enactments relating to the matters aforesaid; and for purposes connected therewith.
