Local option (colonies). Return to an address of the Honourable the House of Commons, dated 1 May 1906;--for, "return of the provisions in colonial laws by which powers of local option in regard to the issue or renewal of licences for the sale of intoxicating liquors are conferred upon the inhabitants of British colonies, showing: (1) the licensing authority; (2) the licensing area; (3) the different options submitted to a popular vote, with the proportion of votes required to carry each option; (4) the persons entitled to vote; (5) the periods at which elections are held.".
