Chimney fire penalties. Returns of the number of inflictions during the year 1870, of the penalty to which the Metropolitan Fire Brigade Act has made every occupier of a house or building liable whenever a chimney is on fire; distinguishing any number of cases in which less than the maximum penalty has been inflicted, &c.; and, of the salary of the officer who is styled "receiver of chimney fire penalties," and the expense of his office and agents in that year.
