East India (officers of native regiments). Copies of the Court of Directors' despatch of 10 September 1856, expressing their opinion as to thirteen officers being required to be always present with native regiments for regimental duty in time of peace, &c.; of extract from despatch of 18 January 1861, from the Secretary of State for India, addressed to the Governor General of India in council, which fixes six officers as the number required for each native regiment; and, of Governor General's recommendation for the six officers for irregular native regiments.
