Customs, &c. Statement showing, in respect of the years ending 5 January 1830, 5 January 1840, 5 January 1850, 31 March 1860, and 31 March 1867, the number of articles chargeable with duty in the customs tariff; the rates of duty levied on the principal articles, and the net amount of duty received upon them; also the total net amount of customs revenue received in the United Kingdom; the rates of duty chargeable on each of the subjects of taxation under the heads of excise, stamps, taxes, and income tax in England, Scotland, and Ireland, together with the net amount of duty received in each case; the rates of postage, home, foreign, and colonial, charged on letters, books, and parcels, &c.; and, the amounts in detail paid into the Exchequer under the heads of crown lands and of miscellaneous receipts.
