Return to an address of the honourable the House of Commons, dated 7 August 1866;--for, "return showing in detail, with a general abstract, the expenditure for the year 1865-6, in each of the three kingdoms, on account of all courts of law and justice and legal departments, defrayed wholly or in part from public funds; distinguishing the charges on the Consolidated Fund, on votes of Parliament, on fees of court, and on special or local funds:" "and, similar return for all courts of justice, the expenditure of which is defrayed from county, borough, or local funds:--the returns to include pensions and compensations on account of any present or former office in each court or department, to show the rate of salary in each case where the officer is paid by annual salary, and the number of persons of each class employed, whether paid by salary, wages, or fees."
