Return of colonels promoted to the rank of major-general in the brevets of 1851 and 1854, having served six years or more as effective field officers on full pay, and not being now colonels of regiments; stating the length of each officer's service as effective major and as effective lieutenant-colonel on full pay, and distinguishing cavalry from infantry.
