Paupers. Returns showing the number of paupers of all classes in receipt of relief on the 1st day of January 1855, and the 1st day of January 1856, in unions, &c., in England and Wales: of the number of adult able-bodied paupers in receipt of relief on the 1st day of January 1855, and the 1st day of January 1856; together with a return showing the causes of relief upon which the adult able-bodied were relieved: and, showing the amount of money expended for in-maintenance and out-door relief in unions. &c., under the Poor Law Amendment Act, in England and Wales, during the half-years ended at Michaelmas 1854 and Michaelmas 1855, respectively.
