Shipping and tonnage. Accounts of the number and tonnage of vessels that were built and registered in the several ports of the British Empire in the years ending 5 January 1853, 1854, and 1855; of the number and tonnage of vessels, with the number of men and boys usually employed in navigating the same, that belonged to the British Empire in the years 1852, 1853, and 1854; and of the number and tonnage of vessels (including their repeated voyages) that entered inwards and cleared outwards at the several ports in the United Kingdom from and to foreign ports, during each of the three years ending 5 January 1853, 1854, and 1855.
