Rates. Abstract of return to an address of the Honourable the House of Commons, dated 13 March 1845;--for, I.--"returns of all rates, other than poor rates, levied, and of all sums, other than those for the relief of the poor, expended out of the poor rates levied in each county, division of county, riding, shire or stewartry respectively in England and Wales, in the year ending the 31st day of September 1843, exclusive of the parliamentary boroughs included in the return ordered to be printed on the 5th of September 1844:" II.--"from each county, division of county, riding, shire or stewartry, of all sums expended out of the rates levied within them respectively, in the year ending the 31st day of December 1843, on each of the following accounts:--expense of gaol and maintenance of prisoners, administration of justice, and prosecution of prisoners, county expenses, coroner and county rates."
