Slaves, Mauritius. Return to an address of the Honourable the House of Commons, dated 3 June, 1829,--for copy of the ordinance for the government and protection of slaves in the Mauritius; with the observations of the commissioners appointed to inquire, among other subjects, into the state of slavery, the condition of the slaves, and the means of relieving them, and encouraging free labour in that island; and more particularly into the condition of the slaves in the Mauritius, belonging to His Majesty's government, their employment, and the means of their instruction and emancipation.
