Crown debtors. Return to an address of the Honourable House of Commons, dated 15th March 1826; for a return of the number of Crown debtors now confined in the different gaols of the United Kingdom; distinguishing those originally charged in execution, and those committed for want of bail, and in what gaol confined; stating the name of each debtor, the time when he was imprisoned, the nature of the offence, and the amount of the several claims or fines against them; also the names of the sureties given for the debtors, and whether they have paid any part of the respective debt; viz. from the following departments: customs United Kingdom; excise ditto; stamps Great Britain; taxes England; taxes Scotland; Ordnance Office; War Office; Hackney Coaches, Hawkers, &c. Office; inspector general of prisons, Ireland.
