Turnpike trusts. Copies of the several accounts transmitted to the clerks of the peace of the different counties of England and Wales; from the clerks of the trustees of the several turnpike trusts in each county; according to the provisions of 3 Geo. IV. c. 126. ʹ 78; intituled, "an act to amend the general laws now in being for regulating turnpike roads in that part of Great Britain called England;" the 78th section of which directs, "that the accounts of treasurers, clerks, and surveyors, shall be audited at the general annual meeting;" and provides how "treasurers, &c. neglecting to produce accounts, &c. are to be dealt with;" and directs, "that a statement of the revenue and expenditure shall be made out, according to the form in the schedule to the act annexed, and being approved, shall be transmitted to the clerk of the peace;" and imposes a penalty for neglect thereof.
