Papers relating to remission of excise prosecutions; and of penalties incurred under the excise laws: viz. returns to orders of the Honourable House of Commons, dated 5th March 1816; for No. 1. Copies of a representation from H. Davis, with the report of the revenue boards; and orders, letters and instructions of the lords of the Treasury, in the year 1815, respecting the proceedings in the Exchequer against Solomon Leonard, common brewer, of Bristol. No. 2. Copies of all orders, instructions, and letters, of the lords of the Treasury to the Board of Excise, and of all reports of that board, relative to the proceedings in the Exchequer, in 1814 and 1815, against Wolf Benjamin, soapmaker, at Leigh in Essex. No. 3. Copies of all memorials (with their enclosures) to the lords of the Treasury; and of all certificates, minutes, letters, instructions and orders of their lordships; together with the reports of the boards of revenue, in the years 1814 and 1815; relative to proceedings in the Exchequer, against Mr. Davie, common brewer, of Lyme Regis.
