- Summary:
- This unconventionally designed 6.5" x 6.5" square text presents an overview of Portoghesi's artistic architecture. The first 65 pages are devoted to several chapters giving a background on Portoghesi, his philosophy, inspiration and intention concerning architecture; the relationship between architecture and music; historical references; projects, and work. The remaining 300 pages consist of colorful and beautifully photographed pictures of corresponding buildings and structures designed by various well-known and lesser-known artists throughout history. Gottardo (conservation of architectural heritage at Milan U.) captures Portoghesi's creative and futuristic vision for modern architecture through a glimpse of its past.
