Summary:
Yvette of Huy and Margaret the Lame are two fascinating female recluses of the thirteenth century. This volume contains translations of the Lives of these two women, written by close contemporaries. The Life of Yvette of Huy, by Hugh of Floreffe, is translated by Jo Ann McNamara; the Life of Margaret the Lame, by Brother John of Magdeburg OP, is translated by Gertrud Jaron Lewis and Tilman Lewis. These translations, which previously appeared in the Peregrina series, are introduced by Anneke Mulder-Bakker.
