Summary:
Once a year the Ait Haddidu people of Morocco gather for an extraordinary festival a bride fair where men and women come to meet each other and choose a marriage partner. After the briefest of courtship, they can get engaged on the spot and agree to a marriage contract in a simple ceremony. First time brides will return to their family until their more formal wedding feast months later. Widowed or divorced women can go straight to their new husband's village. This is the story of two women who go to the bride fair in search of a husband. Fadma has been coming here for 12 years since her divorce. In that time she has failed to find a suitable man and at the age of 27 she is afraid that this year may be her last chance. Aisha is here for the time. She is fourteen and has high hopes of finding a man that both she and her parents would approve her.
