- "Created to accompany this exhibtion, this publication exists in a regular edition of 500 copies; 50 additional copies, containing restrikes of original copper plates, have been divided equally between The Grolier Club and the Imprimerie Nationale. One specifically bound copy has been created for auction among Club members to benefit The Grolier Club"--P. 92.
- "Composed in Monotype Garamond for the text and hand-set Garamond, cast from the original matrices, for the display type, at the Imprimerie Nationale's Atelier du Livre d'Art et de l'Estampe (ALAE), in Ivry-sur-Seine, France, and printed there letterpress on Arches Expression texture white 120g. The collotype plates have been printed at ALAE. The illustrations have been printed offset at GHP in West Haven, Connecticut, and the books have been bound at Acme Bookbinding Inc., Charlestown, Massachusetts. This first edition consists of 500 copies, with twenty-six special copies, numbered A to Z, containing restrikes printed at ALAE from the original plates. Designed by Jerry Kelly."--Colophon.
