Organization is thematic, as follows: the growth of the discipline over 75 years (v.1); dimensions of the caste system (v.2); agrarian structures and their underlying effects on other aspects of rural life (v.3); marginalization in Indian society (v.4); theoretical perspectives and empirical studies in the sociology of education (v.5); and conventional and new social movements of India and the subcontinent (v.6). The seventh, on changing themes in Indian sociology, presents a selection of ISS presidential addresses. Each volume is separately indexed and includes an introductory essay by the volume editor.
