Penn Libraries copy has illegible ms. inscription at head of front pastedown, next to ms. numeral "828" in a different hand, followed by early ms. transcription of the Latin text and German translation of a maxim from Cicero; maxims in Greek and Latin in early ms. on front free endpaper.
Penn Librararies copy has some early ms. underlines and annotations in brown (and now green?) ink in text; ms. pagination ("1"-"259") in head outer corner of leaves A7r-R7v in brown ink.
Penn Libraries copy bound in contemporary full blind-tooled pig over indented wooden boards; initials H and B (emended from D) on either side of a heart tooled in blind on upper portion of left board; date "1568" tooled in blind on lower portion of left board; 3 raised bands on spine; illegible ms. on spine; 2 metal catchplates on left board and evidence of clasps on right board.
