- Summary:
- This big book (11.25x12.25") is devoted to British-born artist Colleen Browning (1918-2003), who came to the US in 1949. She was instrumental in the establishment of the Realism movement (primarily a male domain) and had a long and illustrious career. Near the end of her life she gave a substantial number of her paintings to the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art. Eliasoph (art history, Fairfield U.) presents a thorough monograph exploring her life and work. Abundant color plates showcase her images in this lavish, oversize volume.
