Hymn dedicated to the Hindu deity and monkey lord Hanuman taken from the Brahmāṇḍapurāṇa; title refers to the "breastplate" or "armor" (kavaca) of Hanuman, which can be evoked symbolically through the recitation of this set of prayers and mantras.

Title from colophon (f. 7v); alternate title Hanumanmālāmantra from incipit (f. 1v).
Written in 6 lines per leaf.
7 leaves foliated [1-6], 7, lower right verso.
Colophon: iti śrībrahmāṃḍapurāṇe hanumatkavacastotraṃ samāptaṃ // saṃvat 1[8]36 varṣemāsānāṃmasotame āsojamāse tuneśukle pakṣe tithau dhavudhavāsare // idaṃ pustakaṃ li[kh]itaṃ [??]hiḍonamadhye mayārāmavidyārthīharīdāsavaiṣṇavake [/] śrīrāmakṛṣṇarāmakṛṣṇarāmakṛṣṇarāmaṃ hanumānjīsahāya (f. 7v).
Dated saṃvat 1836 (1779) (f. 7v); the number 8 was written in later and is not totally clear.
Mistakes blacked out; some corrections and additions in margins.
Opening folio (f. 1) is glued to a white paper backing.
May have been housed at an earlier time with Item 461, Item 462, and Item 463.
