The first part of the book overviews the school setting and explains how to adapt counseling skills to work within the overlapping systems of the school, family, and community. This section also reviews child and adolescent development. The next two sections review the theory, techniques, and applications of the most common therapeutic orientations used in schools. Cases demonstrate the use of different models with different age groups. The final section of the book reviews ethical and legal issues and discusses collaboration among professionals in schools and communities.
