A compendium of the bakashot (hymns) sung in the Kahal Zion Synagogue (also known as the Emtsai Synagogue) in the Old City of Jerusalem; see Seroussi, p. 106.
Notes:
Approbations: Yaʻaḳov Shaʼul Elyashar and Yosef Pisante; additional letter by Albert Cohn (1814-1877), translated to Hebrew.
Many bakashot authored by Israel Najara; order brought by the author to Kahal Zion from Aleppo, Syria, upon his emigration (circa 1845).

Libra Katz Rare BM679.H4 A58 1854: Purchased from Kestenbaum & Company, Auction 53 (8 December 2011), lot 171 (Elis & Ruth Douer Term Fund); bound in contemporary boards; front board partially missing; Cyrillic language library stamp in blue ("БИБЛИОТЕКА..."; possibly in the Balkans ("б.а.h.").. Early manuscript sheet bound in, written in the hand of Mosheh ben Yitsḥaḳ Tag'ir (משה בן יצחק טאג'יר), recording the death of his wife Rinah (רינה), and his subsequent donation of her jewlery to the Jerusalem synagogue ("...מי יתן מותי תחתיה והגביר הנז׳ …הקדיש כל נכסי הבת הנז׳ ובנה בה׳׳כ הגדולה אשר תוככי עיר׳׳ק ירושלים תובב׳׳א באבני שישה ומרמרה וכמה מפוארה ותיקן אלולשורר בקול נעים ולעשות נח׳׳ב לנפש בנותיו...").
