Heavily illustrated with tables, maps, and b&w and color plates of the sites and finds, the articles present research and analysis of avian finds at a diverse selection of archaeological sites, including Windsor Castle, the Abbasid Qasr al-Hayr al-Sharqi, Roman Spain, and a 17th-century monastery in Portugal. Birds for food, rituals, symbolism, and hunting, as well as the specifics of the researchers' investigations are described.
