Production of crude oil. Letter from the Director of the Bureau of Mines transmitting in response to a Senate resolution of September 11, 1918, certain information in regard to the production and consumption of crude petroleum and other mineral oils so far as statistics are available; also a letter in response to a Senate resolution of September 13, 1918, transmitting certain information as to what relief the speedy enactment of the bill (S. 2812) to encourage and promote the mining of coal, phosphate, oil, gas, and sodium on the public domain will give to the threatened shortage in the supply of crude oil.
